DOCTAR
Healthcare Platform & Doctor Booking
Built DOCTAR — India's premium healthcare platform enabling patients to book verified doctors, schedule home visits, order medicines, book lab tests, and access emergency medical support, serving thousands of patients across India's major cities.

The Structural Challenge
India's fragmented healthcare system left patients struggling to find credible, available doctors — especially for home visits and specialist consultations. Existing directories were static, outdated, and lacked real-time appointment management. Patients in non-metro cities faced the additional barrier of language and discovery, unable to filter by local availability, language, or specialty.
For healthcare providers, the absence of a unified digital workspace meant they juggled paper appointments, phone calls, and disconnected billing systems. Home visit doctors in particular had no route optimization, availability management, or integrated patient record access — resulting in operational chaos that limited their capacity and earning potential.
The healthcare platform required DPDPA-compliant data architecture, end-to-end encrypted patient communication, and a verification framework rigorous enough to establish trust in a domain where credibility is safety-critical.
The Systems Architecture & Solution
We built DOCTAR as a multi-sided healthcare marketplace with distinct patient, doctor, hospital, and pharmacy interfaces running on a shared backend. The patient app delivers location-aware doctor discovery with specialty filters, language preference, availability windows, and fee range — surfacing results within seconds of query using a geospatial + relevance engine.
A home visit scheduling system coordinates doctor dispatch with real-time route optimization, patient location validation, and in-app tracking. The platform integrates lab test booking with sample collection scheduling, pharmacy ordering with delivery tracking, and surgery center discovery — making DOCTAR a one-stop health gateway.
The doctor workspace includes a live appointment dashboard, patient record access, integrated billing, and a lead pipeline showing incoming consultation requests. The DPDPA-compliant data layer uses field-level encryption for all patient identifiable data, with role-based access controls ensuring clinical data privacy across all user types.
Architecture Decisions
Multi-sided platform with patient, doctor, hospital, pharmacy, and diagnostic lab interfaces
Geospatial home visit dispatch with real-time route optimization and in-app tracking
DPDPA-compliant encrypted patient data layer with field-level encryption and RBAC
End-to-end encrypted patient-doctor messaging meeting legal privilege standards
Integrated lab test, medicine ordering, and surgery center booking flows
The Measurable Enterprise Impact
DOCTAR established a strong presence across India's major cities, with patients consistently rating the platform 4.8+ for ease of use and quality of care coordination. The home visit booking system achieved an average dispatch-to-arrival time of under 45 minutes in tier-1 cities, significantly outperforming traditional healthcare access models.
The platform's integrated service model — combining doctor booking, lab tests, pharmacy, and surgeries in a single interface — drove 3.2x higher session depth compared to single-service healthcare apps, with patients discovering and booking additional services within the same journey. The global doctor discovery feature expanded DOCTAR's reach beyond India, with patients from 15 countries accessing the platform's international network.
